How does wool optical brightener perform in high – temperature washing?

Our high – temp formula is designed to be super stable even at extreme temperatures. In the tests at 90°C, the wool samples treated with this formula still looked bright and fresh. The brightener didn’t break down, and it continued to provide that great blue – light emission to counteract the yellowing.

Another factor to consider is the duration of the high – temperature wash. A short, high – temp wash might not have as big an impact on the optical brightener as a long, extended one. If you just quickly run your wool through a hot rinse, the brightener is more likely to survive intact. But if you leave it in a hot wash cycle for an hour or more, even the most heat – resistant brighteners might start to show some wear and tear.

We also looked at how different washing agents interact with our wool optical brighteners during high – temperature washing. Some detergents contain harsh chemicals that can react with the brightener. For example, detergents with high levels of bleach can cause the brightener to break down more quickly. So, it’s really important to choose a mild, wool – friendly detergent when using our optical brighteners in high – temperature washes.

In addition to the chemical reactions, mechanical agitation during the wash cycle can also affect the performance of the brightener. High – speed spinning and tumbling can cause the brightener to be rubbed off the wool fibers. This is more likely to happen at high temperatures because the fibers are more pliable and the brightener might not be as firmly attached.
